Machiya neighborhood, Kyoto, Japan
I found this neighborhood of narrow streets and tiny one and two-story homes during a lunch break in Kyoto. Known as "machiya", they are fast disappearing under the pressure of urbanization and scarcity of land. Some looked like doll houses.
